G. Vilkickytė on her duet with A. Lukoševičius-Obuolis: "Tamsus langas" - a song I would have written myself, but I didn't have time

Gabrielė Vilkickytė, a singer and songwriter, says that when she was not yet brave enough to compose songs herself, she used to perform the song "Tamsus langas" at concerts. Although she did not get to sing this song together with Alvydas Lukoševičius-Obuolis, technology will help to make this and other impossible duets come true in the musical talk show "Dream Duets", which starts on Saturday on LRT TELEVISION.

"I once saw three hours of footage from my childhood. And there's a three-year-old Gabrielytė running around the apartment where we lived. And I look at this child for three hours and I think: I will do anything for this child", says G. Vilkickytė, one of the five participants of the first edition of "Dream Duets", about her determination to pursue a career as a musician.

According to the singer, at the beginning of her career, the song "Tamsus vakaras" by A. Lukoševičius-Obuolis was very important to her: "That song was such a cocoon of security for me in my childhood, I found comfort in it. Then I used to include that song in my programme - before I dared to write songs myself. It was like something I would write myself, but I couldn't, because he had already written it down."

G. Vilkickytė has chosen this particular song for her dream duet: she will go to A. Lukoševičius' performance with the help of technology and on Saturday she will see her dream duet for the first time together with the viewers of LRT TELEVISION.

The show will also feature four more music videos and candid stories about the participants' lives and careers. Dovilė Filmanavičiūtė, an advertising specialist and performer, will go into the music video for Danish artist Robyn's song "Dancing on My Own" and talk about why it was so important at the beginning of her personal music career.

Sasha Song will join the legendary George Michael on the legendary song "Freedom" to share the story of what freedom meant to him during the most difficult time of his life. The audience will also see Vaidas Baumila's dream duet on air - he will appear in the music video for John Legend's song Ordinary People.

Rolandas Janavičius, who has a bright memory, will also appear on air, joined by Gintarė Karaliūnaitė, who will sing the song "Rytas perone" (Morning on the platform), which recalls the beginning of their long-lasting friendship.

Talk about life's difficulties overcome, inspiration to create and duets that seemed impossible until now - on the music talk show "Dream Duets". The first episode of the project will be broadcast this Saturday at 9 pm on LRT TELEVISION and on LRT.lt portal.

After the premiere, each programme will also be available for viewing in the LRT media centre.
