From February, Latvian music icon Emīls Balceris will make his debut on TV3 as the host of the Latvian TV quiz project "THE FLOOR | Pārņem laukumu". The project is produced by the ELITAZ team, celebrating its 20th anniversary, in cooperation with the Dutch company Talpa Studios, which owns the rights to the format. The project is broadcast on TV3 in Latvia.
The project established the Baltic Production Hub in Tallinn, the first international ELITAZ production hub, working in close cooperation with Talpa Studios. 84 episodes were filmed in this hub: 60 for Estonia, 12 for Latvia and 12 for Lithuania.
The 35 participants will compete in knowledge duels, each choosing their own topic. The winner of the duel takes over the opponent's box and the loser quits the game. The aim is to occupy the entire "floor" area and win the main prize.
"It is a great honour for me to make my debut as host of the Latvian project THE FLOOR. The knowledge and energy of the participants makes the game extremely interesting. I am delighted to be a part of this project and I am looking forward to the launch," says Emīls Balceris.
THE FLOOR has already been a huge success in Estonia, where the adapted version officially launched in autumn 2025 on TV3 Estonia with 60 daily episodes.
