Rosita Čivilytė celebrates her 60th birthday in a special way with the publication of an open autobiographical book "It was necessary to dive where it is very deep and uncomfortable"

Rosita Čivilytė, one of the most prominent women on the Lithuanian stage, celebrates her 60th birthday this year. The singer decided to mark the occasion with an exceptional creative event - an autobiographical book. "Rosita: A Life of Sudden Death and Slow Resurrection" is the singer's sensitive story, in which she talks openly about the trials of her life, the price of fame and her newfound inner strength.

It is the story not only of a famous voice and a long career, but also of a man who dared to look at himself anew. And that is why this book is more than a biography. It is the story of Rosita's resurrection. Rosita Čivilytė herself admits that when she heard the offer to publish the book, she was hesitant to go into such a frank confession.

"At first I was intrigued by the idea of the book and then immediately discouraged, because I knew that I would have to dive somewhere very deep and uncomfortable. Who will be the companions on the journey into the past? Why do I need that? But a few days of doubts and conversations with myself dissolved a few locks. After meeting with the team, I realised that I was looking forward to this book", says Rosita Čivilytė.

Gediminas Jaunius, the book's author, recalls that the idea was born unexpectedly - as if from an everyday trifle.

"Sometimes in life, things happen by chance, and it's only in hindsight that you realise there was nothing random about it. That's what happened with this book. Rosita just came to me for dinner, and while I was waiting for her, I was tidying the shelf and picking up an English biography book. Suddenly I thought - it's time for Rosita's book. We had a heart-to-heart conversation and Rosita said that maybe it was time," says Gediminas Jaunius.

The book's path was full of unexpected connections, he says: "I needed another adventure to bring in an important partner. And that happened when I was peeling potatoes for New Year's dinner with Elvyra Kučinskaite. I mentioned the idea to Elvyra and Rosita, and even though she and Rosita didn't know each other, Elvyra said, "Let's give it a go. A few days later, I organised another dinner where they met. I saw how quickly they found a common language, and I knew it was time for a book. They continued the rest of the process without me. When I read the result, my eyes got wet, both from the feeling and from the knowledge. Thank you to Rosita for believing in me again, and to Elvira for her careful, wise guidance along the way."

Writer and journalist Elvyra Kučinskaitė, who undertook the project, says that she had no idea how powerful an emotional journey it would become: 'I am not sure that Rosita has ever spoken more openly, deeply and sensitively about her life and creative path. She says herself - probably not. I didn't expect such positive emotions when I started this work, nor such moving insights, nor such a warm, trusting relationship with the character. Rosita has shattered a lot of stereotypes in my mind, not only about her, but about the whole world of entertainment music."

The author makes no secret of the fact that the book is not only a documentary narrative, but also a spiritual journey that can affect every reader.
"In writing this book, I have crossed a number of my own 'red lines' and have been rewarded with new draughts in my head and heart as a result. I very much hope that this will happen to the reader too. What Rosita has entrusted to us has the power to 'reboot' our worlds of thought and insight."

The book "Rosita: a life of sudden death and slow resurrection" is only the first highlight of the anniversary project. According to the creators, this autumn there will be many more surprises, meetings and events dedicated both to Rosita's work and her inspiring life story. Pre-sale of the book will start on 16 October.
