We will try to understand what Kristina is really like", says Rytis Zemkauskas, journalist, writer and TV presenter.

The documentary "Kristina Sabaliauskaitė. My Own World", produced by the teams of the creative house ELITAZ and Telia Play, celebrating its 20th anniversary, gives viewers a close-up look at the writer's life and work. Rytis Zemkauskas and the creative team are the first people Kristina has let into her personal spaces - the film reveals her everyday life, her creative process and her personal life.

"The documentary, a year and a half in the making, is presented tonight with Kristina in a carefully selected location - Radvila Palace. I hope it will be a spectacular, meaningful premiere, just like this whole journey of following Kristina with the cameras. Thank you, heroes of the film, for opening your doors, and to the entire film team," said the opening night and Gediminas Jaunius, the chief producer of this documentary.

Well-known people from the world of culture, as well as the heroine's friends and relatives, speak candidly about the bestselling author: Dalia Ibelhauptaitė, Dexter Fletcher, Tomas Venclova, Anna Jarota, Virginija Vitkienė, Jean Vassort, Saulius Žukas, Anne Berest, Amelie de Bourbon-Parme, Cyriaque Benoist, Maciej Radziwitt and Kristina Sabaliauskaitė's daughter Kotryna.

"There is nothing better than Kristina in a crisis situation. Situations where I call 'no press'. Because Kristina is strategic in crisis situations, she doesn't get emotional." - Dalia Ibelhauptaitė.

Tomas Venclova reveals how Kristina and he are alike: "We are a bit like both of us outsiders, we are a little bit near the main one, again in English, mainstream, the main currents in literature. Maybe that's what makes them interesting."

The film is structured in two perspectives: from the inner world of Sabaliauskaitė and from the outside, so that the audience can get an accurate picture of her work, her personal life and her relationship with Lithuania.

"It was a big gamble on my part, and I signed up to it quite recklessly. I learned a lot about myself in this film. For me, publicity and sharing my private space is a very difficult thing to bear, - says the heroine of the documentary, and when asked directly if she regretted agreeing to the filming - will reply, "A million times, a million times!"
