We are just over a week away from one of this year's most important music events - the M1 Music Awards. On 3 December, it will be revealed who will be the Best of the Year in thirteen nominations, and the winners will leave Kaunas Žalgiris Arena holding not the usual statuettes, as in many other similar events, but a special prize made of gold and real diamonds.
This award is not only more original, but also much more expensive. It is a work of art with a sense of value, created by the jewellery artisans at Factory by Ribas, made of 14 carat white gold and encrusted with diamonds. And a little secret. It will be safely nestled in a larger pendant of the same prototype - opening one will reveal the other.
"The M1 pendant is a symbol of creativity, inspiration and achievement, designed especially for the M1 Music Awards, echoing the well-known logo of the radio station. The original's sharp and expressive angles have been softened in the jewellery, so that the shape remains recognisable, but fits harmoniously against the skin. In creating the design, we sought to strike a balance between the architectural strength of the logo and the jewellery's softness. The aim was for the pendant to symbolise energy, courage and creativity - the values that the M1 Music Awards epitomise," said Dana Ribas, founder of Factory by Ribas.
The diamond, she says, symbolises the talent that shines from within and reminds us that great achievements are born from small but strong sparks.
"In this way, we wanted to convey not only the shape of the logo, but also its spirit - a symbol of creativity, energy and drive. In this way, the jewellery has become a symbol of modern elegance and will always remind us that true beauty is in the details and strength is in the elegance," says Ribas.
"Even before we sat down to organise the M1 Music Awards, we set ourselves the goal of not being like the others, to stand out with unusual visual solutions, high quality communication, only live sound, only in a way that we could be proud of ourselves. One of the highlights of this approach is the award itself, which is definitely not like a normal statuette and has a much higher value than just a piece of metal. The chain will gain even more "weight" once it is in the hands of the Best of the Year. When we presented it to the nominees, we saw their reactions, their surprise, and I think this is the best recognition," said M1 Programme Director and presenter Arnold Eisimantas.
These chains will be worn by the top 13, very soon. The most deserving of the awards were chosen by the people who cast their votes on the official event website. A total of 755913 votes were cast in the voting that ended on Friday. The best ones have already been chosen and will be announced on 3 December at Kaunas Žalgiris Arena at the grand M1 Music Awards.
